Nick discovers that he actually sees Amy as bringing out a better version of himself and finds that he loves her for it. It's actually a more messed up ending in that way.

My favorite part is the last segment, where Amy is speaking. She basically says that she has nothing to add, but she had to get the final word, because she deserves it.
