I don't know a lot about computers. But I'm not computer stupid.
Anyway, I'll mainly be using the computer for Internet, word processing, and family picture/video storage, Netflix streaming. I'm not going to be doing any video editing, gaming, or artsy fartsy stuff.
Anyway, there are three things I can't decide on for specs. I am fine with paying extra for the upgrades if it is worth it, but I don't want to waste money either.
1. Processor: should I get a 2.9 GHz processor Intel core i5 with turbo boost up to 3.6 GHz
Or for $200 more a 3.1 GHz Intel core i7 with turbo boost up to 3.9 GHz?
2. Memory: 8 GB or for $200 more should I get 16 GB? Keep in mind if I get 8 I will never DIY upgrade. If I get 8, it will stay at 8.
3. Storage: 1TB regular drive or for $200 more a 1 TB fusion drive?
For what it's worth, it will be the 21.5 inch model. Once again, I am fine with the cost as long as it's worth it. By worth it, I mean a noticeable overall better experience and maybe have the computer last longer and be more future proof. I don't want to buy another one for 5-7 years.
