My wife and I are looking at booking airfare for an upcoming trip, and she had a question that I don't know the answer to. (...so, of course, I go to the source of infinite wisdom - CB.)
Southwest Airlines allows you to change/cancel tickets at any time after booking your flight. If you cancel a trip, they reserve the cost of your airfare as "store credit."
If we were to book prices at $350 today and those same dates were to drop down to $300 at some point between now and the time of our trip, could we either:
(1) contact SW and request a refund of the difference or
(2) cancel our flights and immediately use the "credits" to purchase at the lower rate (realizing that we'd have left over "credits" to use at a later date)
Has anyone tried this with any success?
TIA.
