I don't really have anything against Boise or most of their fans per se, but I've spent too much time rooting against them to suddenly turn around and become a Bronco fan.

I don't know if I would go with Oregon for sure, but these would be my reasons for doing it:

1. Brother who lives in Springfield's wife teaches at UofO. I'd have a source for tickets, and they already give my sons U of O gear to wear.

2. Relatively regional team (almost as close to Boise as the U of U)

3. They win at a good clip (Gotta admit that it would be nice to root for a program that was consistently playing for high stakes).

4. No real animosity between us and them (I know that the Belotti comments rankled some Cougs, but I regard that as pretty small potatoes compared to say - the Stanford band making fun of polygamy).

5. A chance to still root against the Utes on a regular basis (Major bonus points here - and it hurts to say, but it would be nice to root for a team that usually beats the Utes).

Anyways, I'm not planning on hopping on the Duck bandwagon anytime soon, but if BYU WERE to drop their sports programs, those would be my reasons.
