If that's what she wants to do, then CS would be the way to go
Or she could look into the coding bootcamps that are popping up all over the place. My buddy with no programming background did the 3-month program at DevMountain and was able to get a job with ZenDesk doing front-end development pretty quickly. If it were me, I'd probably go with something like that over a full degree.
