If we had hired Whitt away Utah would not be part of the Pac-12. It would have destroyed their football program. They probably would have hired the OC that went to UNLV and did nothing. By destroying Utah football, it would have made our job a lot easier. It wouldn't matter whether Whitt was a better coach or not - it would have crippled a rival which would have been great for BYU football. All other things being equal, it would have resulted in a better outcome overall for BYU.
