I'm a programmer and I am in the market to get a laptop so I can do some side projects (I have a personal laptop, but it gave up the ghost.... had hardware problems from day 1). I want to be able to run some linux and windows virtual machines. I've been looking at high-end laptops, but man are they expensive. I was hoping to get a machine with 16 gigs of RAM, but now I'm wondering if I can get by with 8 so I can save some money. Thoughts?
