Multiple BYU friends have said the same
And I've attended games in LES (BYU vs. Utah in 2007 and BYU vs. Boise last year), I think it's mostly because LED has a much flatter incline. Like Qwest Field in Seattle, Bronco Stadium's second level helps keep the sound in and the South Endzone (always the loudest because of the curves and rowdies) got bigger with the new SEZ seats.
