Holmoe for hiring winners to coach BYU sports, not just in football and mens hoops, but in other sports as well. I really liked Rondo Fehlberg and thought Val Hale was a disaster. I was happy to see Hale replaced, but wasn't sure if Holmoe would be more successful behind a desk than he had been on the sideline at Cal. After almost a decade, I can say with gusto that I am very pleased with Holmoe and the coaches he has hired. When a coach has struggled to win, Holmoe has given them a chance to turn things around, but if they don't then he replaces them. It is awfully hard to justify firing a football coach who goes bowling every single year.
