I think what you're missing about the "Utah turning a corner" talk is a little
bit of perspective. I'm not one who thinks Utah is a shoe in for the South (or even a strong favorite, they have a chance but a lot of work left to be done).
But what gives Utah fans hope is that last year those close games didn't go in Utah's direction. Making a drive late in the 4th or in overtime to take the lead and get the win was not something I had any confidence Utah could do. So far Utah's made two of those drives. And they've done it away from RES. Which is even more impressive cause winning away from home has been very difficult for Utah in the Pac12.
