I don't think a good coach needs playing experience. Look at Mike Leach. However, for a coach to get on at BYU should have something on their resume. Should a coach's first coordinator position be at BYU? Heck no. Give a guy some chances at SUU or Snow where there isn't so much riding on their success. I do find it interesting that no assistant hired under Bronco has gone on to bigger and better things. That's actually quite concerning to me.
