Stevenson's post read sort of like how he played on kickoff coverage, all out with little regard to bodily harm or collateral damage. I appreciate his passion and he made a some good points but alot of it is lost in the tone of the post which is unfortunate.
It comes down to BYU's instate games. 90% of the angst in the fan base comes from BYU's record versus Utah and USU. I agree. It sucks as a fan to lose rivalry games. It sucks for the players. Players like Van Noy and Hoffman shouldn't go 0-4 against Utah. Bronco needs to do a better job winning those games.
That said take a step back and look at how the program overall compares to years past. BYU is right where we've always been for the past 30 years maybe even a little better overall. Here are the Massey average team and schedule rankings of BYU, Utah and USU during three time periods: LaVell's post NC years, Bronco's tenure and Bronco's last 5 years.
BYU Utah USU

That isn't a body of work that screams "FIRE BRONCO NOW!!!". Bronco has said repeatedly that he doesn't see himself coaching at BYU long term. I wouldn't be surprised if Bronco decides to retire after the current contract is up. There are probably very good odds if BYU can put together a special type season between now and then. Whenever that happens I agree Sitake should be one of the top candidates for the job and think he'd be a good HC at BYU. It'd be nice to get him in the fold as DC now but I don't think that'll happen.
