Firing a coach mid-season seldom works out well. It upsets players,
hurts recruiting (as hard as that is to believe) and creates anxiety among the staff that is still working. Additionally, it is a sign that an AD has responded to his or someone else's emotions. Better to let the season play out and make a decision.
