Football changes when it becomes all about being assignment sound,
position mastery, execution, and a "workman-like" approach to the game.

I grew to love the game of football in the backyard because it was fun. I really loved improvising, creating plays, and seeing how the game could turn by someone making a great, improbable play. This is why NFL films shows highlights of plays like the Steelers' "immaculate reception" by Franco Harris all these years. These are the kind of plays we live for and what byu football used to be about. I used to tape the games so I could re watch the great plays, I stopped doing that around 2009. The team and games seem lifeless, robotic, and...workmanlike. I don't watch football for it to feel like work.
