Your analogy is wrong
It's not a ship that is sinking. Its a car that is still running but is having serious problems.

There's some history and emotion attached to the car so you don't want to trade it in. Instead you invest in repairs only to discover more problems.

Undaunted you invest again and find more problems. But you are attached and believe the car is it could be the best car ever so you keep investing.

In the meantime you've spent more than what it would cost to replace the car, yet you feel justified right up to the point that the car dies, and shows you that your investment was foolish.

I will never give up on BYU football or its players. I want the best for our program. I dont believe we have the best coaching and it's been a problem for a while. Some coaches have been replaced but it's proven to be a temporary "repair."

The problem is the coaching scheme. It doesn't work. It's broken. Temporary repairs will not revive it. It needs to be replaced.

Bronco could, if he chooses to, revamp his coaching scheme but I don't believe he will. If he doesn't change his scheme, then it's time to get someone else.

Don't ask me what's broke...I'm not an insider and I'm not a coach. Don't say we can't claim its broke without pointing to a specific thing - when your 1978 Chevy starts smoking, and then bursts into flames you know it's broke even if you don't know exactly what caused it.
