So getting Bronco out for the good of the program is the building consensus? At least among some circles? That I can understand, but the Ute program sprinting away from that of BYU isn't helping us. Will it put some heat on the powers that be to put some heat on Bronco? Maybe. If things stay this bad for long enough, that'll happen, independent of what the Utes do.

We don't need Utah solidifying an already firm grasp (strangle hold?) as the marquee program for a huge chunk of our recruiting demographic. In the grand scheme of things, a great Utah team does NOT help BYU. They're our chief competitor for players, dollars, and positive perception within our own market.

We can get angry and fire our Coach without needing the Utes to live out their dreams at the same time. Or we should be able to do that.

Maybe a respectable Ute program elevates Sitake in your eyes? Not sure that helps either. If we do offer him, it's better for him to have built his resume, sure. But a stellar Utah may result in Kalani being snapped up for BYU can do so. Again, I don't see how Utah winning really helps. This is the place for positive spin, but Criddle's take requires some truly heroic contortions which I can't achieve.
