Do you think that the church would have rid the school of the athletic program if it was profitable and could continue to gain more exposure while not competing with BYU Provo? Me Neither. It was about the money. Just because it is a nonprofit organization without profits going to shareholders it is still about profit going back into the mission. And Ricks couldn't provide that as BYUI.
