As long as offense scores one more point than opponents, our defense can suck

as badly as it wants. It has happened like this in BYU's history. You're likely correct we'd not be undefeated....but 7-1 or 6-2 or even 5-3 is better than 4-4 (sorry to have to state the obvious, but just because we MIGHT not be undefeated does not mean that our team would necessarily suck).
