So hard to cheer for the Jazz when they display such knuckleheadedness in the front office.
I realize it's extremely tough to be a small market franchize in the NBA, which makes the Gordon max "deal" (really, travesty) all the more difficult to bear.
Those who say it was in the Jazz's longterm interests are simply neophytes or clueless to the game. By signing that contract the Jazz basically burned a few others--that will likely end up more valuable. Only the elite franchizes can efford to make contract blunders like that--& even they can't sometimes.
Max contracts are more than just money--they're the benchmark of all your team's salary. Particularly for a team full of kids on their first contracts, like the Jazz find themselves at right now.
