I think it's very possible that Matthews' agent shunned the Jazz because he knew he could get more money elsewhere. I think Matthews would have been willing to take a slightly smaller contract as an act of loyalty and gratitude, but if you believe O'Connor, he never got the chance. You can't just simply blame the Jazz for this. It takes two to tango.
