I'm in the process of making a pretty major career transition, and I've got a pretty good lead with a large bank in NY. I've gone through a couple rounds of interviews, and they'd like to bring me up in person (I'm currently based in D.C.) for a final interview.
If you had a couple of small children and the belief that this position would open doors 5-7 years down the road that might not otherwise be there, what is the minimum starting total compensation you'd need in order to accept the position? Or how would you go about approaching the equation?
