We tried this in the mid-90's. Don't do it. Busiest I've ever seen Disneyland.
And I have been 40+ times (grew up in SoCal).
We went on Thanksgiving Day, the urban myth being that nobody shows up on the actual holiday. Not true. It was horrible.
