You do realize that Pangos was (1) hurt & (2) playing out of position last year, don't you? Thru 7 games last year (27 vs Washington State; 27 vs Dayton & 34 vs Arkansas at the Maui Invitational) he was averaging 22 a game on a team that had 8 different guys get at least 17 pts. in a game last year. Then he got turf toe, wore an orthotic & didn't practice much, then rolled the ankle on his other leg. He was a mess. Still got 24 vs BYU @home, then 13 @ your place then 11 (without a made FG, only time all year) vs BYU in Las Vegas. Couldn't change direction, couldn't explode off screens; had basically been reduced to a spot-up shooter.
With Stockton graduated, Pangos moves back to the point where he is most comfortable. Overrated? Perhaps, but that is a totally subjective thing. You're not going to get any arguments from any Zag fans, Haws & Collinsworth are 2 of the best players in the league. Haws deserved POY last year & could very well win it again this year. But he & Pangos are 2 different types of players & I would argue that Pangos does more things better. My opinion only.
Hope Kyle gets back to 100% early & that you guys kick out of conference rear end. Good luck!
