Terrible analogy. SVU was still very much alive and kicking. Corpses don't try..
to steal the ball from those trying to dribble out the final seconds of a game. What Toolson did was the very definition of "killer instinct". He was going to keep killing it until the final buzzer sounded.
In the end, this is much ado about absolutely nothing. Kid took a long three to close out a game...big deal. People who allow themselves to get in a twist over it deserve to be in a twist. Get over it.
