There were things to learn.
Mostly, they were bad things, but there were important things.

1. KC isn't ready. No, they weren't going to risk him against a DIII club (not NAIA, BTW), but streetclothes was a surprise.

2. They can play defense. They don't want to, but they can.

3. The team is as identityless as any team I've ever seen. There is no one leader out there, not even Haws (who isn't the type). That will change, but right now, there are a huge number of interchangeable parts.

4. Haws isn't right. It's not his 13 points that bugs, but his inability to get (or hit) open shots. Yes, they keyed on him. But it wasn't until he went out that we started scoring. He will have trouble this year, and that means we will have trouble this year.

5. But not as much as we would otherwise, because the #2 defender on most teams can't handle Fischer.

6. There really, really isn't anything offensive happening in the post. If any of our frontcourt scores 10 points on SDSU, we'll win that game going away. They won't, though.

7. The team is sloppy and undisciplined but exceedingly fun to watch. It will be an entertaining year, make no mistake.
