To cook. You can search by specific ingredients, meals types, etc. When I plan meals think of a couple meals a week that are different or new, a couple of easy go-tos, and some days for leftovers/combining food in the fridge. I usually look at the weekly grocery ads, and then search for recipes that include food that's on sale that week.
One easy thing is cooking a whole chicken in the crockpot. Easy potatoes and veggies on the side. Then the next night use the shredded chicken for something else - enchiladas, taquitos, chicken pot pie, chicken salad, etc. The same goes for cooking a roast
We use black beans a lot to change up recipes or leftover meats to make a new meal. Keep things like legumes, diced tomatoes, corn, etc on hand to toss into things quickly.
Prep things before hand -have veggies chopped up in amounts for recipes, measure out spices in bowls (this is handy especially when doing soups, then in the evening you just toss everything in and simmer).
But really check out foodgawker if you are bored with the same meals. I write out a weekly meal plan with a couple meals from there, but am flexible if things are too hectic. Then if I need to have something faster one night I can just shift the meals over a day.
