The best execution of a drop kick would be when you are trying to drive at the end of a game and time is limited. They expect you to throw near the sideline to get out of bounds often leaving large openings in the middle of the field. If you can get someone across the middle that could do a drop kick they can turn and kick it for a drop kick field goal from there...

I think that would be a cool skill to develop and be able to utilize in key situations....
