I was received an appointment to the Naval Academy and was accepted after I was rejected.

I received the "you're awesome but not awesome enough letter" and then a couple of weeks later the football coach in charge of recruiting me called and I told him I didn't get in and he told me not to worry about it that they still wanted me to come play for them. The next week I received an acceptance letter.

I thought that was interesting.
