This program is treading water at best and is slowly backsliding at worst. In either scenario it is getting left behind by P5 schools who are looking to distance themselves from the likes of BYU, Boise State, Northern Illinois, etc. I never expect BYU to be a powerhouse in football, but they should be representing themselves and the university better than they have the past few years.
Playing the proverbial fiddle of (Independence, ESPN Contract, BYU Brand, In Bronco we trust, injuries, other excuses) while the program slowly burns will lead to what Doman was talking about. Irrelevance....or worse yet....joining some meaningless middle tier conference.
I want to believe Tom Holmoe and Bronco are very aware of the situation. I just think the past four years have been wasted in moving the program forward and whatever plan they had in place isn't working.
