I think that Nate Silver book is a pretty good one
Another to try is Thinking, Fast and Slow - by Daniel Kahneman. I've just read the first 100 pages or so but it's very interesting.

Edit: Some more to consider are Six Degrees: The Science of a Connected Age, by Duncan Watts. The Freakonomics books are good. Finally, you might try Predictably Irrational, by Dan Ariely.
