I posted this awhile back, but playing SDSU always brings up the memory, so I thought I'd share again.




January 26th 2011 - one of the best days of my life

I will remember that game forever and will recount it many times over to my children in the coming years. I'm sure they'll tire of me repeating the story.

My wife was due with our first child in January of 2011. The baby nearly came early a couple of times, but she held out. On the due date, January 26th, contractions started and we knew the baby was coming. After many hours of labor our little baby girl was born at 8:26 PM, eastern time. By 9pm she was cleaned and bundled up and her mama was sleeping. Tip off was at 9pm eastern time. My new little girl and I huddled around my laptop quietly streaming KSL radio and listened to Greg Wrubell call the game. I knew BYU would win, after all this was my daughter's first BYU sporting event ever and she had come all this way and timed it perfectly. That was hands down one of the best days of my life, and the basketball game just made it that much better.


We'll be watching again tonight, hoping for the same result.
