It's absolutely a bonding time, even if we don't talk a whole lot. It's quality time spent in my book - he gets to relax, I get to hang with my dad.

Same thing with watching cycling with my mom, although we do talk and analyze through the race...drives my dad crazy. (SMH - women. Amorites?)

If it was their house, I'd absolutely say don't turn on the game because you want to be a gracious guest. But if it's at your house, I don't really see a problem with it.
