Why is BYU so bad at making free throw shots year after year? It's disturbing and costs the Cougars games.

I'm stoked about the team this year and I expect great things from them. Rose has solved some glaring problems from last year such as thee point shooting, but the free throw situation has me baffled. High School teams often shoot better. Considering that the shot is exactly the same distance with the same ball it boggles the mind.
