The guarantee is actually to the top Go5 CHAMPION...Even if CSU doesn't lose another game and stays higher ranked they won't be in their CCG unless Boise loses again because Boise beat CSU head to head...therefore in a scenario like that they could not be selected with that guarantee to the Go5 highest ranked champ.

That aspect of being a conference champ is the main reason why BYU could not get the guarantee Go5 slot...

But again if BYU were in high single digits in the CFP committee poll they would still be in as an at-large....
