In fairness...this team hasn't gotten a break inside of 2 minutes in either loss
In the second overtime, SDSU flat out beat us. Killed us. They deserved the win. It should have never gone to a second overtime. In a 30 second span, BYU took it on the chin 4 times...2 horrendously.

This game was not quite as bad...but we still didn't get calls that Purdue was getting at the end.

Basketball is such a strange game. The first 38 minutes are often irrelevant. The last 2 minutes...a key call or non call either way can make the difference. Sometimes we get those breaks. In this tourney, we didn't in either game. SDSU got them big time...Purdue just enough.

Psychologically, you have to wonder if that doesn't start to weigh on a team. Same thing happens in the NBA. The have's tend to get those breaks...the have nots...not so much. It's not enough to take a way a win from a clearly better team. San Antonio has proven that. But if all things are equal...just a little inequality tips the scale.

BYU got hosed against SDSU. They got ticky tacked against Purdue. In both cases if it had gone the other way, BYU is undefeated.

Now I will concede. If BYU plays just a bit more composed they also win. But only SDSU in the second overtime really showed composure. The rest of the time at the end of regulation and in overtime both teams were haphazard. In those cases...the team that gets just a little extra thumb on the scale is likely to win. That team was not BYU in either game.
