RE: why does every stupid game carlino plays have to
In part it has to mean that there is something substantial about Carlino, whether for good or not doesn't matter. When we can't let go from talking about someone, it means they are a force. We don't talk about someone forever who doesn't matter, whether we perceive them as positive or negative forces.

My view is that BYU is better off for his departure, that his vagabond playing career has left little positive along his trail so far, but that he landed in a terrific place for his last college year. Wojo has suffered an exodus in his first year coaching at Marquette, has a good recruiting class for next year, and needs someone like Carlino who can carry the team for a year to a few nice victories to maintain hope for a .500 team fan base with a first class basketball tradition. His poor games won't matter much to a team with little chance to win 20 games anyway.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't have a good year at Marquette and i would not be surprised if he one day reverses his public trashing of the BYU basketball program and looks back on it as a positive time for his growth and stability.

It really is possible to be glad someone is gone and yet to wish him/her well. That's where i sit. He is a high IQ guy who hasn't yet discovered that more selflessness and service orientation can enhance his life's work. Perhaps he will at some point.
