For example, if this was supposed to be our best secondary, and previous years we did have good secondaries that were coached by Howell, then what happened this year to our secondary? He still coaches them.

From what I've seen, we've had a very anemic pass rush which can expose any secondary. It has been starkly obvious, IMO.

It also seems to me that the defense has lost discipline in execution, perhaps due to coaching, but also obviously to make up for the pass rush issue as well as not trusting their teammates in their own assignments.

It is always more complicated than just one coach, one player, one scheme doing poorly...or doing well.
