Hey, were you around when "common sense" said: the sun revolved around earth (and tried to lynch Copernicus); you're gonna sail off the edge, Columbus; passing's really dumb, LaVell; fire-sides are really bad, Devon... I enjoyed hearing Devon talk about the fire-side, and double his season cathes in one game. Now, I have no proof that there's any correlation between the two, but you're "common sense" mighta taken a bit of a cred blow.
Btw, what would you think if an NFL coach provided an optional Buddha style meditation practice for his team prior to the Super-Bowl? And, what if a bunch (not all) of his players, from quarterback to lineman participated - would that sound a little bit like BYU football fire-sides? What would your "common sense" say about that team's chances in the Super-Bowl (hint - ask Seattle)?
Look, there's no proof that fire-sides (or the Buddah) help on the field; but there's no proof they hurt either. And don't use your common sense in an argument - it's better to have the capacity for critical thought if you are going attempt criticism (otherwise you might just grit laughed at)
