I heard from a reliable source that Utah had an alumni function in Kansas city before the Utah vs Kansas game. One of the questions asked of Dr. Hill about the BYU Utah game. Hill said something to the effect that he is asked daily why they don't help BYU out and schedule them. He went on to say he has no sympathy for BYU or their predicament. He does not have to help BYU with scheduling and if they have better games come up they will schedule those teams over BYU.
He also said this years basketball game almost did not happen it was originally scheduled for the same day Utah played Kansas so Utah was going to buy out of the contract for the better game. But tom holme told hill that it meant so much to the BYU fan's so BYU moved the game to accommodate Utah.
