jobs aren't bright enough to simply push the mute button when they jump on a call. I can't tell you how many times I have been on a call with multiple people where we have to listen to dogs barking, babies crying, papers being shuffled, or loud/inappropriate side conversations. I've even heard rude things being said about other people on the call that were clearly not meant for the entire audience.
