Sure, they don't mention Christmas, but they have been associated with Christmas for so long I think that's a really silly argument. They are only played around Christmas time, so they are most definitely Christmas songs.

How about Jingle Bells? Not a Christmas song either? (same reasoning would apply, I think). I think 99 people out of 100 would disagree with you.
