Cal was half a team their D was worst in the country in a few categories

at the end of the year, don;t knnow where they ended up in final tally but I'm betting srill in the 100's in Defense. So yes they were a non winning team with one of the worst Defense in teh country and whose offense had not been near as prolific the last 7 games as it had the first .... IOW BAd team.
