If you look at the first five games, two of which they inflated their scroing due to OT games add to that they played two teams that only cared about offense and scoring and then look at the last seven games of the season... BYU didn;t hold CAL to anything above any average EXCEPT total points over teh entire season.... which means diddly... Call could have scored 200 points it;s first game and 200 it's second game and ZERO the remaining ten.. Does that mean if BYU had held Cal to 35 pts they would have held them to their average? Yes and NO. BYU did not hold them to their average in yards passing.. or yards rushing nor in points if you take out their OT games or look at the points that they actually scored on averaged per game...Especially teh last seven games which seem to be more representatvie after teams had seen film of CAL from teh first few games...
