Penn State has a better back row attack and a better ability to mix up the power outside hits versus off-speed (roll shots, tips, quick-sets, slides to middle, etc.), which has the potential to take the teeth out of our blocking game. The second part is basically what UT was trying to do last night, according to the coach, and this is what worked for them in the third set. I think BYU adjusted well in the 4th set, but it was a pretty good game plan/adjustment in the 3d set by UT. If Penn State uses the same plan, adding in the back row attack and their excellent setter, I think they'll be more effective, really challenging the effectiveness of BYU's block game.

This is why I say passing to get first hit points and defense behind the block is going to be key.
