If I remember correctly, Michaelis had already retired as women's vollyball
coach and was some sort of assistant/associate AD when the whole Crowton/Hale debacle went down. I think Hale was generally a good guy but didn't provide the proper oversight into what the FB program was doing. I believe Michaelis was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time.
