Really depends on the area.
I just switched from Sprit/Ting to T-Mobile because I wanted a newer phone. Where I live I have found the data speed to be miles ahead of Sprint. However, if you stray out of the metro area things drop down in a hurry.
If you're living in the SL Valley, though, I would not worry about T-Mobile unless you're commuting out into the sticks or fringe suburbs a lot.
