I don't think he meant it as a put down.
It is an interesting article. ...it's just 18 months old and that is an eternity in the world of social media and incredibly fast paced changing technology.
I would be interested in knowing if that trend continued or if it's changed since then. And I've never heard of the social media site it mentioned that was gaining ground in Japan.
