Here's the thing. They associate with and claim fierce allegiance to a despicable group that, with few exceptions, HATES one of BYU's and so the Church's most visible and popular representatives. They revel in those few cases where an LDS athelete, even those no longer playing like Max Hall, struggle and fall (break honor code etc).
