If he hadn't gotten injured and our DLine had shown an ability to get a pass
rush, perhaps we could have seen the OLB experiment play out.
He does have more tackles, TFL, sacks, and QB hurries this year than any of his previous two years on the team, even though he missed three games and played sparingly in a few others due to injuries. He was also twice named the FBS Independent Defensive Player of the Week (9/1, 11/17), which hadn't happened his previous two seasons.

But, with the impotence of our QB pressure this year, he is needed on the DLine.
