You fail to take into account that Whitt is paid over $2M a year to coach Utah football. The main goal is to win. Their main rival for many years has been BYU, it is imperative to beat BYU. Whitt learned from Urban Meyer how to beat BYU. Part of that is the "TDS" game they play. Anything and everything to disrespect BYU in the eyes and minds of their players is what they do.

Kyle doesn't hate BYU, as you seem to think. But it's his job to build confidence in his team that they are better in every way than BYU and they will win when they play BYU. Kyle doesn't even hate Bronco, as some claim. But the face of the rivalry requires that he show no deference to BYU or Bronco, only some form of disdain.

Whitt has found that football is 90% mental and the other half is physical. So along with rigorous physical training comes mentally convincing his players they will beat BYU. So you need to understand where the appearance of "BYU hatred" is coming from. Now if you're too dense to do that, go ahead and keep thinking as you are, I could care less.

Of course Whitt and his family have become closely connected to the yewts. Twenty years on the job will do that. But don't think that's where his heart truly lies.
